About NRAGroup Band CInitially, the Agency will conductexams for Group B and C (non-technical) posts. NRA will conduct a commonpreliminary exam and based on the scores receivedby the candidates, IBPS, SSC and RRB will conductthe Tier II and Tier III examinations. This meansthat these agencies will remain in place; however,the preliminary exams will be conducted by theNRA.IBPS,SSCANDRRBNews in DetailNRATIER 1TIER 2Page 4
NRA aims to conduct separateexams for graduate candidates,12th pass candidates, and 10th passcandidates. The scores received inthese exams will be valid for 3years which can be used to applyfor Tier II recruitment.NRA10th12th3 year valid for Tier IIThere is no restriction onthe number attempts acandidate can make butthere will be an upper agelimit for candidates. Thebest valid score will beconsidered as the currentscore.UpperAgePage 5
Initially candidates will have anoption to appear for the exams in 12languages. There are plans to expandthe number of languages in whichthe exam will be conducted in thefuture.The examination will be conductedbased on a common curriculum.12 LanguagesSpecial focus would be given oncreating examinationinfrastructure in the AspirationalDistricts.Page 6
As of now, aspirants have to takedifferent exams that areconducted by various agencies forcentral government jobs.Currently, around 2.5 crorecandidates appear for theseexams for around 1.25 lakhvacancies.The Agency aims tostreamline the processof recruitment forvarious centralgovernment positions.Why is the NRA needed?1.25 lakh vacancies2.5 crorecandidatesCentral GovernmentPage 7

The CET score would begenerated immediately andshall be made available for boththe candidate and therecruitment agency. This wouldhelp in ensuring bettertransparency.Every district across states willhave at least one CET examcentre to help disadvantageoussections, rural candidates andwomen.The exam will be conductedtwice a year, for differenteducational levels and inmultiple Indian languages.TWICE A YEARPage 9
